NEWS – A letter from Dr Parish
I will be retiring from clinical practice with effect from 31st. July 2019.
This is a decision that has been very difficult to make and there is never going to be an ideal time to leave. However, I have decided that it is now time for me to retire after 39 years as a doctor; 31 as a family GP, both NHS and private.
Over the last 2 years running a private GP practice has become increasingly complicated and onerous. Unfortunately, in this day and age it is not only patient care that is the priority of the regulatory bodies that govern all aspects of medical care in this country. There is an ever increasing administrative burden that is incredibly challenging to our small, effective, tight knit team. This has become too oppressive to manage as well as being prohibitively costly. Therefore, I feel that the time is right for me to stop clinical practice altogether.
Most of you will already have NHS GPs and anyone who does not I would encourage to register with your local practice.
As for the future at 40 Wilbury Road; we are in discussions with several people regarding continuing GP services there and any further news will be posted on our website as soon as we have it.
I would like to take the opportunity of thanking you all for your support of the Hove Clinic, initially at 28 and then at 40 Wilbury Road, since I took over the private GP practice in 2010.
*Saturday hours subject to demand.
** During quiet periods the office may close earlier than 8pm.
